unseen-painting
Solo exhibition “Unseen: a journey into inner worlds” at Slice of life Vancouver, Sept 2025
'Unseen' came to me somewhere over the Pacific on my way to Japan. I was doodling in my sketchbook when this blue-haired woman appeared, quietly watching the world unfold around her. There's something about being suspended between places that makes you see things differently, you know? Behind her, I painted this dreamscape of winding paths, all these routes that exist but remain unseen until you're brave enough to look. The blues felt like the endless sky outside my window, while the reds brought warmth to those mysterious roads calling out to be explored. The whole thing has this surreal quality because that's how travel feels to me, like stepping into a world where the impossible suddenly makes perfect sense. This piece really set the tone for everything that followed in the series.
