Solo exhibition “Unseen: a journey into inner worlds” at Slice of life Vancouver, Sept 2025
‘The Hunters’ comes from a camping trip where at one point my aunt walked across our site to put out the fire. Hunters on the road saw what they thought was a woman in white floating through the darkness, followed by a cloud of smoke. They got so scared they ran off, leaving their rabbit catch behind. I’ve always loved how a mundane act became a ghost story in someone else’s eyes. This painting explores that moment when the ordinary transforms into something supernatural, depending on who’s watching. It’s about how easily reality shifts, where a campfire’s smoke and a woman’s silhouette can become mythical enough to make grown men flee into the night.
